History & brand DNA
Calvin Klein founded his house in New York in 1968, with his partner Barry Schwartz, and made it the signature of American minimalism: clean lines, neutral colours, no superfluous detail. The brand has belonged to the PVH group since 2003. Its watches date from 1997, when the Swatch Group began producing them for more than twenty years from Biel, Switzerland. The Calvin Klein watches we offer come from this period: their dial bears the mention SWISS MADE. In 2019 the Swatch Group announced the end of this partnership, and since 2022 the licence for Calvin Klein watches and jewellery has been held by Movado Group.
Iconic models
For women, our sales have always been driven by bangle watches: the Drift, with a striped dial set within steel wires, and the Fly, a rigid openwork bracelet worn like jewellery. Next come the 35 mm Minimal on a Milanese mesh strap, the Full Moon, a large bare 42 mm dial on leather, and the Even, whose dial is crossed by a cross. For men, the City leads: 43 mm, with a black or silver dial, in three-hand or chronograph versions. The 40 mm men's Minimal, which is extra-slim, and the Bold complete the selection.
What we check before dispatch
Three guidelines for choosing well. Size first: our women's Calvin Klein watches range from the 24 mm square Mark to the 42 mm Full Moon, and the most requested sizes are the 34 mm bangles and the 35 mm Minimal; for men, the City measures 43 mm, the Bold 41 mm and the Minimal 40 mm. Next, the metal: steel dominates our sales, rose gold comes second, worn mostly by the Full Moon; for men, the black dial outsells the silver. Finally, water resistance: all our Calvin Klein watches are quartz, and most women's models are water resistant to 30 metres (3 ATM), meaning splashes; some men's models, including most City chronographs, are rated to 50 metres (5 ATM). To recognise a Calvin Klein from this period: the SWISS MADE mention clearly placed on either side of 6 o'clock, the ck logo or the name Calvin Klein finely printed, and on the caseback a reference beginning with K.
