Question 1

What is rose gold on a watch?

Accepted Answer

Rose gold is an alloy with a copper base that gives this warm rosy hue. On the majority of affordable watches, it is a rose gold PVD coating applied to a stainless steel case. This technique offers a durable colour and good scratch resistance, whilst maintaining the strength of the steel.

Question 2

Does rose gold suit all skin tones?

Accepted Answer

Yes, that is precisely one of its great strengths: its warm undertone enhances and illuminates both fair skin and deeper complexions. Unlike certain cool metals, rose gold avoids a washed-out effect. Simply adjust the intensity of the shade (more or less coppery) according to your preferences.

Question 3

Does rose gold plating last over time?

Accepted Answer

The PVD process ensures adhesion far superior to older galvanic plating, with a lustre that is maintained for several years. To preserve the finish, avoid chemicals, perfumes and abrasive friction. A soft cloth is enough to maintain the shine on a daily basis.

Question 4

Rose gold or classic gold: which should you choose?

Accepted Answer

Rose gold brings a modern and warm note, ideal for a contemporary style, whilst yellow gold evokes a more classic and sunny refinement. The choice depends mainly on your wardrobe and other jewellery. The rosy tone remains more versatile with soft colours and camel leather.

Question 5

How do you care for a rose gold watch?

Accepted Answer

Clean the case and strap with a slightly damp microfibre cloth, without harsh products. Remove the watch before applying perfume, cream or hairspray, as these substances can dull the coating. Store it in its box away from moisture to preserve its coppery hue for the long term.
