Our Festina expertise
History & brand DNA
Festina was founded in 1902 in Switzerland, then acquired and relocated to Barcelona in 1984 by the Festina-Lotus group. The house established itself in Southern Europe as the benchmark Spanish watchmaking brand, notably thanks to its sponsorship of the Tour de France for over 20 years. Festina designs its own quartz modules and offers accessible automatic watches, which is rare in its price segment. Manufacturing takes place between Switzerland (premium movements) and Asia (assembly), under Spanish quality control.
Iconic models
The Festina range breaks down into four families: skeleton automatics (F20xxx series) which have built the brand's reputation for their unbeatable mechanical-to-price ratio; sport chronographs (F16xxx, F20xxx) inheriting the cycling sponsorship legacy with multifunctional counters; Retro Look models with leather straps and sector dials for those wanting a dressed vintage aesthetic; and Ceramic watches with white or black ceramic finishing for an ultra-modern look. Men's format 40-44 mm, women's 28-32 mm.
What we check before dispatch
On an authentic Festina: the Festina signature on the dial must display crisp typography with the 'F' slightly stylised. Skeleton automatics (F20536, F20538) must show a balance wheel that oscillates freely when you gently shake the watch, a frozen balance wheel indicates a blocked movement. The screw-down case back bears the reference F plus number and the mention 'Stainless Steel'. On chronographs, verify that the three subdials (30-minute counter, 60-second, 24-hour) return properly to zero after using the pusher.
Why buy at outlet prices?
Festina outlet between 80 and 250 EUR. It is probably the best entry point for an automatic watch from a European brand: at 150-200 EUR, you get an automatic mechanical movement with skeleton dial, where the competition (Hugo Boss, Diesel) is limited to quartz at this price. Festina is also a solid choice for those seeking a serious brand without marketing premium.
