Hugo Boss AG was founded in 1924 in Metzingen, Germany. The house established itself in menswear and accessible luxury during the 1980s and 1990s. The Boss watch line is produced in partnership with Movado Group (official licence). The design directly reflects the house's values: German rigour, clean lines, premium finishes, and a sober palette (black, anthracite, steel). Two lines coexist: Boss (main, business-focused) and Hugo (younger, more urban).

The HB logo on the dial must be in relief (applied, not printed) on premium models. Boss leather straps use genuine full-grain leather. Check the edge: authentic leather shows a fibrous edge, whilst fake leather displays a smooth, uniform edge.
