Swarovski was founded in 1895 in Wattens (Austrian Tyrol) by Daniel Swarovski, who invented a machine capable of cutting crystal with revolutionary precision. The house became the world's reference for cut crystal in haute couture, interior design and jewellery. The Swarovski watch line was launched in the 2000s with a clear vision: a watch is not merely a timekeeping instrument, it is a jewelled piece. Production is managed by Swarovski Watch & Jewelry SA, a specialised subsidiary of the group based in Switzerland.

Iconic models

The Swarovski watch collection is organised into four universes: Crystalline (the house signature, round case set with brilliant-cut crystals, the model that defines the Swarovski spirit); Octea (square or rectangular case, set bezel, more modern); Stella (a more accessible version with a crystal touch on the dial or bezel, ideal for everyday wear); Cosmopolitan and Citra Sphere (recent models with bold design, crafted for special occasions). Format almost exclusively feminine, 30-38 mm.

What we check before dispatch

On an authentic Swarovski: all crystals must be certified Swarovski (the brand never outsources this part), a dull crystal or one with irregular facets indicates a counterfeit. The case back bears the signature swan engraved in relief with the reference and the mention 'Swarovski'. The crown often carries a Swarovski crystal cabochon. On fully set models (Crystalline pavé, Octea), no crystal should be missing, always count systematically before purchase. Swarovski packaging (box with swan) is part of authentication: its absence on a piece sold as 'new' is suspicious.

Yes, unlike brands that source elsewhere, Swarovski manufactures all the crystals fitted to its watches in its Wattens (Austria) workshop. This is guaranteed by the brand and is part of Swarovski's value. Beware of brands claiming 'Swarovski crystals' at very low prices, these are often ordinary cut glass.

+Can a Swarovski watch be worn every day?

Yes, provided you choose the right model. Crystalline or Stella with stainless steel Milanese mesh strap are discreet enough for the office. Fully set Octea or Cosmopolitan models are more statement pieces and suit outings better. Avoid shocks (showers, sport) that can dislodge crystals.

Swarovski after-sales service can replace missing crystals on models still in production. For older models, your watchmaker can set a replacement Swarovski crystal (sold individually in some specialist shops). A Swarovski watch with a missing crystal loses its perceived value, repair is recommended.
