Question 1

Who suits a rectangular watch?

Accepted Answer

The rectangular shape flatters particularly slender wrists, which it lengthens visually, but it suits everyone thanks to its graphic and elegant touch. It is an ideal choice for those who want to stand out from a classic round watch and assert a vintage, Art Deco or minimalist style. Paired with a fine strap, leather or Milanese mesh, it is worn like a piece of jewellery equally well day-to-day and in the evening.

Question 2

What is the difference between rectangular, square and barrel?

Accepted Answer

The rectangular case is elongated (taller than wide), it lengthens the wrist and evokes Art Deco style. The square has equal sides, for a graphic and balanced look. The barrel is a curved shape, with curved flanks, between rectangle and oval: it fits the wrist better and offers great comfort. All three share the same unconventional spirit in the face of the round watch.

Question 3

Is the rectangular watch fashionable?

Accepted Answer

Yes, the rectangular shape is experiencing a clear trend comeback, driven by the revival of vintage and Art Deco style and by the contemporary minimalism of brands like Cluse. It appeals to those seeking a distinctive watch, far from the standard round case. It is a timeless shape that transcends fashions: it was already iconic in the 1920s and remains very current.

Question 4

What strap for a women's rectangular watch?

Accepted Answer

Rectangular shapes pair ideally with fine straps that extend their elegance: smooth leather for a formal vintage spirit, Milanese mesh for a modern and minimalist look. Be sure to choose a strap width proportioned to the case to maintain balance. A strap that is too wide would weigh down the graphic line that makes all the charm of the rectangular shape.

Question 5

What size rectangular watch should I choose?

Accepted Answer

For a slender wrist, a compact rectangular case keeps delicate proportions and a jewellery spirit. Larger models assert a clear presence, statement watch style. The elongated shape giving an impression of length, there is no need to aim very wide: a measured rectangular watch remains elegant and feminine. Exact dimensions are listed in the specifications of each product sheet.
