What size watch box should I choose to start?

Accepted Answer

Always take 2 to 4 slots more than your current collection. A 6-compartment box (33 × 11 × 7.5 cm on average) fits on a standard shelf and accommodates a beginner collection's growth. Beyond 8 watches, the 12-compartment format with wide tray becomes more comfortable than a lengthwise arrangement.

Does a watch box protect against humidity?

Accepted Answer

It protects against dust and impacts, not ambient humidity: no box on the market is airtight. The practical rule: dry living space (45 to 65% humidity), never a bathroom. Solid wood models buffer rapid humidity variations better than soft cases.

Could the glass cover fade the dials?

Accepted Answer

Glass doesn't fully filter UV rays: in direct sunlight, some lacquered dials and leather straps can dull over time. Place the box away from direct light and the glass cover presents only advantages: immediate visual check and effective dust barrier.

Women's and men's watch boxes: is there a difference?

Accepted Answer

No, the cushions in our boxes accept all wrist sizes: a women's watch box is chosen by the same criteria (capacity, material, cover). To also store rings and bracelets, models with jewellery drawer (Ravello 6 or 8, Bellagio 12, Monza case) are most suitable.

Should I get a winder rather than a box for an automatic?

Accepted Answer

Not necessarily. An automatic worn each week restarts in seconds. The winder is justified for perpetual calendar watches or for rotating 3 automatics or more. In that case, our Capri (ebony wood) and Imola (carbon effect) winders cover 1 to 9 watches simultaneously.
